If you ever come across a person in the street with a giant helmet which looks like a robot, don't be scared. Just step forward and touch the person wearing the helmet. It is blind until you touch the person. Once you touch his/her skin, "Touchy" will open his/her eyes and can see you. If you keep touching for 10 seconds, it will take a picture of you and becomes happy. Then you can live together happily ever after. That is the story of Touchy, a human camera concept. Eric siu, a new-media artist behind "Touchy" explains his art project as
This project is a phenomenological social interaction experiment that focuses on the relationship of giving and receiving by literally transforming a human into a camera. Touchy, (the person wearing the device) is blind most of the time until you touch his/her skin. Once vision is given to Touchy, he/she can take photos for you. This human camera, with its unique properties, aims at healing social anxiety by creating joyful interactions.
